I want to explain you how I was inspired to design the autumn silk scarves “Malvasia de Sitges“ that moved me so much…
I visited the Palau Maricel, located in a stunning waterfront privileged place in the Mediterranean town of Sitges. When I discovered the cloister, I fell in love at first sight! Painted on the ceiling, leaves of Malvasia (variety of vines that occur only in the zone of Sitges, and from which it produces a sweet wine flavour very characteristic) scattered around over a blue background covering the entire surface, giving the cloister, overlooking the sea, a very special atmosphere.
The following week, I decided to paint this image of leaves covering the ceiling and made some watercolors inspired by the Malvasia leaves. The idea was to capture the essence of the romantic architectural and bohemian spirit of the artists that made it possible.
From the watercolors composition I developed four different designs, that later, became different elegant silk scarves.
The first one, with the essential colors of the cloister painting where the predominant color was the deep blue in the background contrasting with the edges, sewn by hand, in bright yellow.
The remaining three were painted on white background and each of them was highlighted with a frame in harmony with the basic colors of the leaves: terracotta color, gray and deep blue. The result is a stylish, romantic and elegant autumn silk scarves reflecting the dusk breeze of the Mediterranean sea.
In the picture, Monica is wearing the silk scarf “Malvasia de Sitges T”, white background with terracotta edges. Picture taken on the terrace of Palau Maricel, with the background of blue ceramic tiles.
The picture of the model, Monica, is in perfect harmony with the environment, Palau Maricel.
The series of the autumn silk scarves “Malvasia de Sitges” are ideal to give an elegant and exclusive look, with soft color tones but with a character, that offers a strong sense of self esteem and sensuality… It is a perfect accessory for the modern women, who wants to stand out in an elegant way.
